Oporto’s Serving Up 10,000 Free Chooks Next Week To Give Aussies A Break From Rising Costs

On June 10, Oporto is giving away 10,000 of its famous Portuguese Flame-Grilled Chickens to mark Dia de Portugal, and give Aussies a little relief from the cost-of-living crunch.

“This is about more than just chicken,” said Ben Simmons, Head of Marketing at Oporto.

“Dia de Portugal, or Portugal Day, is a major celebration of Portuguese culture around the world. And what better way to honour it than by sharing our craveable, Portuguese Flame-Grilled Chicken? It’s our way of bringing people together through food, flavour, and generosity.”

So, how do you score a free chook?

From 12 noon on Tuesday, June 10, 200 Oporto restaurants across the country will be handing out 10,000 free chickens.

That’s a whole butterflied Portuguese chicken, basted in your choice of Lemon & Herb, Original Chilli, or the fiery Extremo Picante.

And if that doesn’t quite hit the spot, Oporto will also be serving up their legendary Bondi Burger for just $5 all day.
