A number of people, among them an entire family, reported feeling sick after sharing a 1kg pack of Haribo Happy Cola F!ZZ.
A spokesperson for the Dutch food safety authority (NVWA) said consumers reported experiencing "dizziness" after eating the sweets.
The agency confirmed to Dutch broadcaster SBS6 that samples were tested and traces of cannabis were found.
While NVWA only found three packs to be contaminated, Haribo is recalling its entire stock as a precaution.
In the statement, the agency has warned that there are Haribo bgs in in circulation that "can lead to health complaints, such as dizziness, when consumed".
"Do not eat the sweets," the statement warned.
The contaminated 1kg Haribo Happy Cola F!ZZ packs have a best-before date of January 2026.
NVWA has confirmed that the police were investigating how cannabis ended up in the sweets, and whether the contaminated products are genuine Haribo bags or fake.
Haribo is said to be taking the incident “very seriously.”
