Entering the final round with a four-shot lead, Lee faced early pressure as her advantage was quickly halved. After a shaky start, bogeying three of the first six holes, the 29-year-old steadied herself to close with a composed two-over-par 74 in challenging conditions at PGA Frisco’s windswept Fields Ranch East course.
The win adds to Lee’s 2021 Evian Championship and 2022 US Open triumphs, completing the third leg of women’s golf’s prestigious career grand slam. Only the Chevron Championship and the British Open remain for her to conquer.
With this victory, Lee becomes just the third Australian to win three different majors, joining legends Karrie Webb and Jan Stephenson. She also surpasses Greg Norman and David Graham on Australia’s all-time major winners list.
Another milestone in an already remarkable career, Lee’s latest win puts her one step closer to a future place in golf’s Hall of Fame.
