According to Christopher McQuarrie, a sequence in the final instalment of Tom Cruise’s smash hit spy franchise ‘Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning’ nearly gave someone a heart attack.
In an interview with Empire magazine, McQuarrie said: “We had a small screening, and someone said, ‘I was suffocating throughout the entire sequence. I almost had a heart attack.’”
“And I thought, ‘I guess we did something right.”
The heartstopping sequence was not revealed, but the trailer for the film portrays Cruise scuba diving and exploring a wrecked submarine, as well as flying and falling out of a biplane.
Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning is slated to be released in Australian cinemas on Thursday, May 22, 2025.
