For many entering the country during the 2020-21 pandemic, two-week mandatory hotel quarantine was a way of life. Some found it boring and unproductive. Others had a new contract for a book come through that they had to write, giving them two weeks of uninterrupted writing time.

Inspiration can come from anywhere. But there is no place more creative than an 8-year-olds mind. When Adam Hill’s then 8-year-old approached him with a significant childhood dilemma, it was a light bulb moment for the Australian comedian, who is currently in the U.K.

With the simple question of ‘Daddy, I’m not sure what I want to be when I grow up, a rock star or a detective’, the answer could go in any direction. But Hills saw this as the perfect piece of parenting encouragement. Why not both? Check out the full interview below.
