Dave has collected so much stuff that their garage is so crowded they don’t even know everything that’s stored in there anymore.
Peter identifies six major categories of items in the garage: recycle or throw away, wine, Christmas decorations, tools, construction materials, sporting gear and gardening equipment. A lot of these items represent happy memories for Dave, so deciding which ones to throw away takes him on an emotional journey that he didn’t expect.
Previously, the garage was so crowded that Dave and Philippa didn't even know what was stored in there, and they couldn't fit the family car inside. Now, with Peter's help, everything is organised and easy to find with plenty of space for the car.
By arranging one shelving unit with only two shelves and placing a benchtop on top of the waist high shelf, Dylan creates a work bench that automatically fits in to the new garage without any problems.
A simple ways to organise and keep the space looking tidy is to put all items into boxes and storage tubs. Everything is also labeled to save Dave and Philippa lots of time looking for an elusive items.
