Women’s Soccer Attendance Record Smashed With Over 91,000 Fans At El Classico

A UEFA Women's Champions League game has broken the world record for the highest attendance at a women’s soccer match.

A soccer game has broken the world record for the biggest attendance at a women's game after 91,553 fans attended the UEFA Women's Champions League semi-final between Real Madrid and Barcelona, AKA El Classico.

The game, played at Barcelona's home stadium, Camp Nou, saw the home team defeat their rivals 5-2.

The previous attendance record for women's soccer was way back in 2012, at Wembley stadium when the USA took on Japan, which had 80,203 fans in attendance; they saw the USA win 2-1 in the 2012 Olympic final.

The game in Barcelona was a sell-out, but there were fears fans might not have shown up to the mostly open-air stadium due to bad weather.

Those 91,553 fans who attended were treated to an outstanding soccer match.
