The waters around Australia are filled with beautiful and rare creatures, but this is a reminder that sometimes it's better to look from afar rather than pick them up.
A woman in Australia is "lucky to be alive" after picking up one of the most venomous creatures in the ocean.
The woman posted a video of herself on TikTok while at an unnamed beach in Australia.
While 'Under the Sea' from the Little Mermaid plays, the video shows the woman getting up close and personal with an eight-legged creature.
She then picks it up and holds it in her hand.
Until afterwards, she didn't know that she was actually holding a blue-ringed octopus, one of the most deadly creatures in our oceans.
Despite the woman's profile saying she is "born and bred Down Under", the woman later said she "didn't know until half an hour later what it was".
Blue-ringed octopus secretes paralysing venom and is toxic to humans.
