Victoria's COVID Restrictions To Ease TONIGHT As State Nears 90% Fully Vaccinated

Victoria is expected to hit its 90% 12+ vaccination target on Saturday or Sunday.

As such, restrictions will ease across the state from 11:59PM.

This means that Victorian’s can return to the dance floor and there will be no restrictions on limits at home. Restaurants and cafes will have their density limits removed.

All indoor and outdoor events can continue with 30,000 fully vaccinated attendees and they will not need a COVID safe plan.

Indoor venues, including stadiums, will need a one-off approval if they are above 30,000 capacity.

The Boxing Day Test and the Australian Open will proceed at full capacity, pending their COVID-Safe plan.

Masks will remain in high-risk settings. As such, they still will be needed for school staff and visitors and for students in years 3-6. They will also need to be worn by workers serving in hospitality and by customers at staff at indoor retail.

Customers, pending hospitalization rates, won’t need to wear masks from December 15.

Isolation will also change, positive residents will still need to isolate for 14 days. Most close contacts will now no longer need to self-quarantine but will need to get a PCR test and isolate until they receive a negative result.
