London’s Tate Modern Art Gallery auctioned the fleece as part of the Brave Ukraine event on Friday. The event was hosted by the Ukraine Embassy.
The President’s fleece had a starting price set at £50,000 (AU$87,000), and ended up selling for a huge £90,000 (A$157,000).
While not in attendance at the event, Zelensky addressed those who were there via video.
The President gave updates on the war in Ukraine and about the latest waves of Russian attacks, before thanking the U.K. for its aid.
“That is why every manifestation of support, every sincere help to Ukraine is important. In particular, yours today,” Zelensky said.
Tate Modern said the event was run in a “statement of solidarity with Ukraine”.
"Alongside other museums and arts organisations around the world, we support the global campaign calling on Russia to withdraw from Ukraine immediately, and we will not work with or maintain relationships with anyone associated with the Russian government,” it said in a press release.
