The Oscar Nominations Are In! And Aussie Nicole Kidman Is Up There

The 94th Academy Awards nominees have been announced, and Nicole Kidman will lead the Australian charge, nominated for Best Actress in a leading role.

Kidman’s role in ‘Being The Ricardos’ sees her take home the fourth nomination in her career for Best Actress. Kidman won the award in 2002 for her role in ‘The Hours’.

Kidman isn’t the only Aussie flying the flag for us at the Oscars. Newcomer Kodi Smit-Mcphee, 25, is nominated for best supporting actor for his career-making role in ‘The Power of the Dog’.

Netflix’s ‘The Power of the Dog’ led nominations to the 94th Academy Awards with 12 nods, including best picture, best director and recognition for all of its top actors: Benedict Cumberbatch, Kirsten Dunst, Jesse Plemons and Kodi Smit-McPhee.

Many American favourites have seen nominations this year, including Will Smith for Best Actor and Kristen Stewart for Best Actress.

The 94th Academy Awards will be held on March 27 in Los Angeles.
