Statement From Queensland Minister For Agricultural Industry Development and Fisheries, Mark Furner

Statement from Queensland Minister for Agricultural Industry Development and Fisheries, Mark Furner

Envoy: Cull is not a documentary. It makes no effort to portray the facts about Queensland’s Shark Control Program and does not even try to be balanced.

The Palaszczuk Government will always put human life first. The Shark Control Program has been keeping swimmers safe at Queensland’s most popular swimming beaches since 1962.

We have no plans to remove shark control equipment from state-controlled waters. We are investing $1m per year in research and innovation for the program, including an ongoing drone surveillance trial on the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and now in North Queensland.
