School Shames Parents For Dropping Kids Off In Dressing Gowns

A school in the U.K. has shamed parents for dropping off and picking up their children in dressing gowns.

Middlesbrough’s Ayresome Primary School, in the country’s North East, posted a polite yet stern message on its Facebook page on Friday.

“Please can we ask that all parents / carers dress appropriately when dropping off and collecting children from school,” it said.

“Dressing gowns on the school yard are not appropriate.”

The message also ended up on the Incidents on Teesside & County Durham Facebook page as a local announcement.

Parents and locals have been divided over the school’s message and the right to where comfy clothes on the school run.

“Good on the school too..it's laziness and no excuses..when did this even become a thing and acceptable..no one needs to be dressed to the 9s to do the school run but it takes seconds to put some clothes on,” said one person.

However others were sympathetic to parents doing the drop in the PJs.

Does it really matter what parents, wear to drop kids off, as long as kids, are, dressed appropriately for school and on time,” argued a commenter.

While the post was intended to remind local parents to wear appropriate clothing, it has since gone viral and garnered thousands of comments and opinions on the matter.
