When Taika Waititi calls you to be in a film, you do it! Rhys Darby and Taika have worked together many times, in many whacky films, but their latest adventure could take the cake! Darby plays Steve Bonnet, a wealthy landowner who turned to a life of crime as a pirate.
Darby, who made the comical decision not to roll with the classic pirate accent, told The Project how his character essentially bought his way into the world of being a pirate. The surprising part is… it’s based on a true story!
