Pigeon Stops Snooker World Championship Game While Probably Looking For Hot Chips

An unusual guest caused a bizarre delay during a second round match at the World Snooker Championships held at the famous Crucible.

Defending champ Mark Selby was trailing Yan Bingtao 3-2 after five frames when a pigeon landed on the table.

The players could only laugh as the feathered friend hung around and kept play from resuming.

Eurosport commentator Philip Studd took the opportunity to stretch his comedic wings.

"We have got an unexpected visitor in the house! Has he bought a ticket?,” he joked.

“That is the question! Well, that is a first for the Crucible! Just paying a flying visit. Well, we talk about a bird's eye view!"

When the pigeon finally took leave, Selby joked “he has gone to the dressing room”.

While the crowd and players found great joy in the unexpected moment, the referee was quick to tell the crowd to “settle down now please”.
