New Poll Shows Scott Morrison Is Once Again Preferred Prime Minister As Support For Labor Drops

Following a damaging week, Labor leader Anthony Albanese has seen his support drop from 38% to 34% as preferred prime minister.

Support for the Coalition rose from 34 to 35 per cent, and Scott Morrison has also made gains on his personal approval.

The survey, conducted by Resolve Strategic for The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age, showed that Morrison is now leading Albanese as preferred Prime Minister by 38 to 30 per cent. Two weeks ago, the Labor leader held the lead 37 to 36 per cent.

The findings of the Resolve Political Monitor signal that a hung parliament is a prospect, with support for the Coalition remaining lower than in the 2019 election and Labor support falling.
