A 55-year-old man from Leyland, Lancashire in the U.K, has caused a dramatic standoff in the Mcdonald's drive-thru, after he became furious upon being told to wait for his McMuffin.
We've all been there. You go to Maccas because you're too lazy to cook, hit up the drive-thru because you're too lazy to get out of the car, and then you get told to wait in the waiting bay, which you don't want to do because you are too lazy to wait.
But for Stuart Yates refused to use the waiting bays. Instead, he blocked the drive-thru.
The 55-year-old McMuffin lover, started arguing with staff from inside his car at around 9:30am, after ordering two double sausage and egg McMuffins.
Stuart says he was made to wait the previous week and believes the McDonald's staff recognised him and were maliciously going to make him wait in the car park again.
He says: "A week ago I got made to wait in the car park for over 15 minutes. A lad spotted me and said, 'Oh, it's him again,' because last time I complained.
"They said go and wait in the car park… I said, 'I'm not going anywhere until I get my food.'"
A staff member told the Lancashire Post: "The other cars have managed to reverse out, but now he won't move. We asked him to park up, and he wouldn't, so now he's just sat there.
"He only wanted a small order. It would have only taken a minute. Now he's refusing to move, he wouldn't park, he wouldn't accept the food, he wouldn't accept a refund. He's been sat there for a good 20 minutes now."
Mr Yates advised he was prepared to wait for a week if necessary. It unconfirmed how he planned to feed himself during that week.
He said: "A girl came out and threw my money and change onto my car roof and said, 'Leave or I'm calling the police'.
I paid by card and said, 'Put it back onto my card', but they said no.
"I said I'm going nowhere until I've had my money put back on my card. It's not a big ask, surely?"
After a visit from the police, Mr Yates left the drive-thru after 2-hours. He said: "I hadn't sworn. I hadn't done anything threatening. I hadn't broken any laws."
