Live-Action Lilo & Stitch Trailer Released

The trailer for the live-action reimagining of the Disney classic Lilo & Stitch has been released.

Chris Sanders, who voiced the fluffy blue ball of destruction in the original movie, has returned to voice Stitch in the new film.

The cast also includes newcomer Maia Kealoha as Lilo and Sydney Agudong as Nani.

Zach Galifianakis, Billy Magnussen, and Courtney B. Vance are also joining the cast.

The trailer shows Kealoha’s Lilo wishing for a friend as a green glowing projectile slams into Earth and lands in Hawaii.

Similar to the original movie, Stitch hides his alien antennae to disguise himself as a dog, and then gives his best impression of puppy-dog eyes when Lilo first spots him.

“He’s so cute and fluffy!” Lilo tells her sister Nani, who immediately looks her dead in the eye and says, “He is your responsibility.”

The trailer’s montage shows multiple people asking if Stitch is actually a dog while officials from an alien galaxy, including Jumba and Pleakley, try to recapture him.

Even the iconic mint ice cream scoop falling has been recreated using rainbow shave ice.

The trailer also features music from the original film, including Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride by Kamehameha Schools Children's Chorus and Mark Kealiʻi Hoʻomalu and Devil in Disguise by Elvis Presley.

The film is set to hit Aussie screens on May 23, 2025.
