La Nina Here To Stay As Weather Pattern 'Stalls' And Conditions Will 'Persist' For A While Longer

The La Nina summer we have just endured may be extended for a few more weeks.

Meteorologists have warned that La Nina is far from petering out, with the weather pattern 'stalling' and the conditions 'persisting' for many more weeks.

It could mean that more rain, cyclones and floods could occur as moisture is pushed towards Australia's east and north coasts.

Sydney has sweltered through its most humid summer for a decade and its wettest in 30 years.

At least 23 people have died in Australia due to the recent flooding, which is partly linked to the La Nina weather pattern.
