Heavy Rain Heading For The East Coast Following Stunning Easter Weekend

The rain will be returning to large parts of Australia after a sunny Eastern reprieve.

The Bureau of Meteorology has warned Sydney and Melbourne can expect nearly a week of rain from Tuesday.

“After a warm Easter weekend, a cold front will bring showers, rain areas and cooler temperatures to much of southern Australia early next week,” BOM said in a tweet.

In Sydney, the rainfall is not expected to be as dramatic as in the last few months, with rainfall expected to peak at 15mm on Saturday.

Temperatures will hover around the low 20s, while Melbourne will be cooler in the high teens.

Melbourne will also see up to 15mm on Tuesday, before it drops to about 1mm for the rest of the week.

Meanwhile, the tropical north can also expect a wet week.

“While across the tropical north showers and isolated storms will continue,” BOM said.
