A life-hack expert has revealed the 'proper way' to reheat food in a microwave in a Tik Tok video. The viral video has surprised many people who now realise they have been using a microwave wrong their whole lives.
The Tik Tok user, who goes by the name Tanya Home Inspo, showed that the most efficient way to use the microwave is not to position your food in the centre of the glass microwave plate but rather on the edge.
The clip, which has now been viewed more than 85,000 times, shows Tanya placing a container on the edge of the glass plate. A video, which must make budding filmmakers furious and leave them pondering why this is the content today’s people want.
Tanya explained that you shouldn't actually have your food in the middle of the plate; it should be on the edge so it can actually rotate around and cook evenly.
Who knew the only thing holding us back from the leftover Chinese of our lives was just a few centimeters of misjudged placement?
We can now live free from the fear of freezing cold bites immediately followed by mouth burns so bad we spend the rest of meal contemplating a visit to the hospital.
It almost goes without saying that we don’t stop to let the hot parts cool, we’d rather risk more burns than go a second without another delicious mouthful of sweet and sour pork.
Judging by reactions to the video, the mind has not been blown like this since the invention of the microwave oven itself.
'Whaaat? Omg thanks,' one person commented. Another writing, 'Thing I didn't know that I needed to know.'
While many were impressed, some noticed a flaw in the concept and questioned what to do if you have a large plate of food rather than a small container.
Wonder not too long because I’m sure Tanya will be back with another hack to solve our new problem.
Will it be four microwaves stacked on top of each other so your food can be heated in smaller portions?
Or, will it be a “crazy” hack where you put your food into a pot and heat it up on the stove?
Only time will tell. I hope she hurries though; I only own large plates so I haven’t eaten in days.
