I think we can all agree that what the world needs now is some unbridled Swedish pop music of the highest calibre.
Luckily, ABBA will be delivering the goods next week with five new tracks. Earlier this year, band member, Bjorn confirmed that new music would definitely come out in 2021 and we now have a release date.
The band have just launched a new website titled “Abba Voyage” where fans can sign up to hear more about the project launching on September 2nd.
They tweeted a link yesterday, asking people to join them at abbavoyage.com with a release date in the image but no other info. Usually, vague social media posts are annoying but from ABBA, we’ll allow it.
What is expected is that as well as new music, the project will involve a hologram tour they initially announced in 2016.
According to British paper The Sun, they will finally be unveiling their “ABBA-tars”, the holograms of their younger selves which will be beamed onto a specially built London theatre. Band members Bjorn, Benny, Agnetha and Anni-Frid are all expected to be there on opening night.
Their long-awaited hologram tour will include the “ABBA-tars” singing and talking to the audience. So fans can step into the past, and the future at the same time!
For nearly 40 years, ABBA fans have been saying Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Hologram Tour And Five New Tracks). Now ABBA is finally answering their prayers.
