Bluey The Star Of Thanksgiving Parade

New Yorkers braved the cold and rain to watch the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, which had a decidedly Aussie flavour this year.

The beloved children's cartoon character, who is hugely popular in the United States, joined in on the Thanksgiving fun with a gigantic balloon float.

Tragedy struck when the 16-metre-long balloon collapsed in a heap after Bluey popped a hole in one of her paws.

The New York Post reported that onlookers heard a loud bang followed by the sound of 'gushing air' as Bluey deflated.

It was a Thanksgiving miracle though, with the Bluey balloon repaired just in time to join the other 21 giant balloons that floated down Manhattan's 6th Avenue.

On Wednesday, NYPD Chief of Patrol John Chell posted to X, writing, 'Hey all, the balloons are ready, and I'm glad to report that Bluey is recovering!'
