Ash Barty Wins Golf Tournament Just 10 Days After Her Tennis Retirement

Ash Barty shows off her multi-sport talents, winning a local golf tournament in Brisbane.

Not even two weeks after her retirement from tennis, Ash Barty has flexed her multi-sport talents, taking out a golf tournament win in Brisbane over the weekend.

The tournament took place at Brookwater Golf and Country Club, just outside Brisbane. Barty won the ladies' competition, who plays off a handicap of 4.

The prize money? Well, it's no tennis world's number one wage. Barty took home all of $30 for the win. But when you have won over $31-million in prize money from the job you left only two weeks ago, at the age of 25, $30 is a nice little win to cover your RSL lunch during retirement.

There have been plenty of rumours about what Ash Barty might do next following her tennis retirement. Golf might be on the cards after this massive win at the Brookwater Golf and Country Club!

Two-time Queensland amateur champion Louis Dobbelaar, who won the men's club championship the same day, was asked whether Barty could turn professional.

"She's got all the tools if she wants to pursue it. If she put her mind to it, I'm sure she could," he responded.

"I've seen quite a lot of golfers come from different sports, and she's the one that stands out the most, by far, actually."
