Alec Baldwin Named In Lawsuit By Halyna Hutchins’ Family

Alec Baldwin has been named in a lawsuit seeking ‘unlimited damages’ by the family of Halyna Hutchins.

Mrs Hutchins was accidentally shot and killed on the set of Rust in October last year.

The producers of the film have also been named in the lawsuit by lawyers acting on behalf of Mrs Hutchins husband Matthew and son Andros.

In a press conference, Brian Parish, an attorney for the family, said the “reckless conduct and cost-cutting measures” during the filming of the Rust “led to the death of Halyna Hutchins”.

The lawyers have created a recreation of the shooting with an animated video.

They will also argue Mr Baldwin had turned down training for the type of actions he was to take during the scene.

The lawyers also said there was no need for a real gun to be used in the scene, and a prop gun would have been sufficient.

Mr Baldwin, who was holding the gun when it was fired, has previously said he believes he will not face criminal charges.

There have been no criminal charges laid against anyone by police.

The lead camera operator and the film’s script supervisor have also brought lawsuits against the producers of the film for trauma suffered, making this the third case over the incident.
