Zreika told her team of the tension she faced between supporting her teammates and her faith.
The Guardian also reported the Giants liaised with the Muslim community as Zreika mulled over her decision.
Zreika told her teammates, she had to balance her faith, the expectations of her community, and supporting her teammates. She will attend the match to support her team.
The midfielder was part of the team that ran through a pride banner last week that read: “Pride round: an inclusive game for all. Everyone is welcome”.
The Guardian reported Zreika’s teammates are supportive of her decision.
