Adelaide Family Sells Land To Developers After Holding Out For Nearly 30 Years

An Adelaide family has finally sold their 1.21ha block of land after rejecting offers from developers for nearly three decades.

The massive block and the tiny home on it had been owned by the Miliado family for 60 years and highly sought after by developers for half that time.

The Salisbury property went up for auction on Tuesday and sold for $5.5m – $2.2m above its price guide.

The sale saw 20 developers battling it out in what was described as a fast-paced and competitive auction by selling agents Tom Hector and Clinton Nguyen of Harris Real Estate.

Mr Hector told The Advertiser it was a “very sad sale” for the family, who were selling after the death of their parents.

“The owners lived in that house up until the end, which was quite recently,” he said.

“I’ve been told they’ve had developers knocking on their door for the last 30 years … but [the family] didn’t sell because their mum and dad were still alive.
