Meet The Teams
Alpaca farmer Chris and firefighter Adrienne have overcome many humps in their 30 year relationship.
While they’re seasoned pros at wrangling alpacas and tangling with flames, will a camel be their undoing? Driven, competitive and irrepressible back-seat drivers, the South Australian couple’s experience around animals should give them an upper hand in the competition… but will it?
Chris and Adrienne are one of 11 teams lacing up for the race of a lifetime. With a $250,000 cash prize up for grabs, here’s hoping Chris can channel his inner Dr. Dolittle and ride his wild camel to victory.
It was love at first sight for newlyweds, Tim and Rod. The pair tied the knot earlier in the year and have lived in wedded bliss ever since. The certified personal trainers are in the best physical shape of their life, and have the strength to tackle – and bench press - any obstacle in their way. Passionate, energetic and always optimistic, Tim and Rod hope to inspire young people struggling with their identity and challenge any negative perceptions of what it means to be gay.
Alana and Niko are ready to bring some sibling rivalry to the race. Close and competitive in equal measure, these Adelaide students are ready show Australia what they’ve got. Although Alana loves her little brother, she’s known for losing her cool with him quickly. They are the youngest team to race and count on support from the whole Greek community.
Driven and determined sisters Hayley and Mikayla are so competitive, they’re banned from family board game nights. These ladies have excelled in everything from academics to sports and even crab fishing. Pharmacist Hayley is a walking Rocky theme song.
Once she locks in on a target, she won’t rest until the mission’s complete. As a vet, younger sister Mikayla is used to thinking outside the box and keeping calm under pressure.
Melbourne based siblings, Viv and Joey are often underestimated because of their height. Measuring four foot five inches, and five foot two inches respectively, the pair were often made fun of growing up, but now embrace their size and see it as an advantage in the race.
Darwin-based Indigenous couple Jerome and Jasmin are repping the Top End. Strong, determined and handy with a map, Jerome is a self-proclaimed adrenaline junkie.
His partner, Jasmin, is a successful lawyer, whose goal is to challenge stereotypes and meet new heights in everything she does. Well, except the height of the plane she has to jump out of!
Hoping to do their two-year-old son proud, Jerome and Jasmin are passionate about setting a good example for other young Indigenous Australians.
Putting their relationship to the ultimate test, this Deadly Duo are ready and determined to take out first place and land themselves the incredible $250,000 cash prize for their family.
Rowah and Amani are a fierce mother-daughter duo, who are ready to box-jump past the competition.
Boss lady Rowah owns three gyms and works tirelessly within her community to give back to those less fortunate. Amani is studying a Bachelor of Fashion and is passionate about creating modest clothing for Muslim women.
Both practicing Muslims, Rowah and Amani see the race as their chance to empower women and break stereotypes.
They believe they have the mental and physical fitness needed to succeed in the race and hope this experience will bring them even closer together. Can this mother and daughter duo triumph over the other 10 competiting teams?
Best mates Tom and Tyler have known each other for six years, having both played in professional and semi-professional AFL. While they may have kicked many goals on the sporting field, it’s on The Amazing Race Australia where they really want to score that winning goal.
There’s no doubt this pair have a physical advantage to help them through the race, but they admit their mental game is where they will clash the most.
Athletic, charismatic and ambitious, the boys plan on using their looks and charm to get them over the line when all else fails. With 10 other teams in the running, will these footy mates make the final goal and win the $250,000 cash prize?
Forget relying on technology and speaking broken LOTE, the nuns believe that the kindness of strangers and praying when lost is definitely the way to go.
While other teams coordinate cute outfits each day to fall in sync with each other, Judy and Therese have been doing this for years and know they’ll be side by side each step of the way.
Racing against 10 other teams in the hopes of scoring the $250,000 cash prize, the nuns will call on the man upstairs as their secret weapon. But will it work?
Would you steal from nuns to win yourself $250,000?
Meet social media influencers Sid and Ash. This Bondi couple are prepared to break some commandments to win the #AmazingRaceAU,
There’s no denying Sid and Ash enjoy the finer things in life. From fine dining to luxurious holidays and endless upgrades, this lavish lifestyle comes at a cost, and what better way to bankroll it than taking out the winning title?
As former elite swimmers, the fashion-forward couple are used to hard work and early morning starts… and yes, those are his and hers Camilla outfits they’re wearing.
Get set to channel your inner Sid and Ash and knock back a glass of (very expensive) champagne when The Amazing Race Australia begins.
These childhood friends and psychiatric nurses are used to working in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment – a skill that will no doubt come in handy in any Race situation - except when navigating a stationary camel.
These friends don’t stop and won’t stop. When they’re not in scrubs, they’re busy whipping clients into shape at their personal training business.
Cool, calm and collected, the boys believe they can take a logical approach to the Race and charm their way through the rest. Good luck charming a compass fellas!
Fingers crossed true North will lead them to the $250,000 prize on The Amazing Race Australia.
