Favourite Catches
The best thing about fishing is continually improving your own skills. I’m not the world’s greatest fly fisherman but persistence pays off as it did with this cracking rainbow.
The humble flathead is one of my favourite fish to target the small ones are great to eat and there’s nothing better than watching the big breeder’s swim off as this one did all 97cm of her.
Another big mulloway around 60lb while filming Reel Action this one was caught just on sun set.
Making TV in rough weather at night with a camera man full of the man flu is not ideal but all worth it with a great fish like this one.
Fishing offshore can be a lottery at times and it’s the unexpected captures that are often the best this huge mulloway was caught in the middle of the day while slow trolling a live mackerel.
It took me a few years to finally crack that magic meter long Barramundi. This one went 108cm and was dragged out of a snag while fishing from the shore with a few snapping hand bags for company ( crocodiles ) I had a broken toe at the time and the Barra was cm’s from busting me off.
This was an amazing fish and my personal best Mulloway at 163cm in length. It was caught along a rock wall and took some serious angling effort to keep it out of the boulders, made for some spectacular TV.
