The war of words between President Donald Trump and California Governor Gavin Newsom over the National Guard's deployment in Los Angeles to quell protests over immigration raids, has continued to heat up. Trump has called for the governor's arrest, saying the crime he has committed was "running for governor" and doing "such a bad job". While Newsom, in juncture with California Attorney General Rob Bonta, is suing the Trump administration over the "unlawful" deployment of the California National Guard to Los Angeles. President Trump also noted a possible escalation, with the deployment and mobilisation of hundreds of US Marines to Los Angeles reportedly set to take place in the coming hours.
