Israeli Bans Aid Agency UNRWA | 10 News First

The U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees, or UNRWA, has been designated as a ‘terror group’ and has been barred from operating in Israel, after lawmakers in Jerusalem passed two laws on Monday. The latest bill strips UNRWA workers of all legal immunities and prohibits Israeli officials from liaising with the agency. The second bill bans all UNRWA activity on Israeli soil. The U.S. State Department had said it is “deeply concerned” with the legislation prior to its passing, and that there is presently no organisation to replace UNWRA’s “irreplaceable role right now in Gaza”.
