Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has boldly cut ties with the US after stating the two nations' old relationship "is over" amid Trump’s tariff threats. Speaking to reporters after a cabinet meeting in Ottawa, Mr Carney said, “The old relationship we had with the United States based on deepening integration of our economies and tight security and military cooperation is over.” He stated Canada would respond with retaliatory tariffs that will have “maximum impact” on the US, but is expected to speak to Trump in coming days. The steep tariffs are set to impact foreign-made cars, light trucks and vehicle parts when they come into effect on April 2.

King Charles has been temporarily hospitalised after suffering side effects from his ongoing cancer treatment. Buckingham Palace says he's now recovering at home, but the King has been forced to clear his diary.

Several Wounded In Amsterdam Stabbing Attack | 10 News First

At least five people have been injured following a stabbing near the central Dam Square in Amsterdam. The attack occurred at around 3:30pm and lasted several minutes before the male suspect, who has been arrested, was stopped with the help of bystanders and taken to hospital with a leg injury. The victims have been identified as a 67-year-old woman and a 69-year-old man from the United States, a 73-year-old woman from Belgium, a 26-year-old man from Poland and a 19-year-old Dutch woman from Amsterdam. Police say the motive behind the attack is under investigation.

War Group Chat: White House Doubles Down | 10 News First

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt has told reporters that the Signal group used to coordinate an attack on Houthi militia targets in Yemen did not contain classified information, despite officials using it to discuss launch times and weapon details. When explaining why this information was not considered classified Leavitt cited a social media post made by Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth that said it wasn’t. Leavitt then attacked The Atlantic editor Jeffrey Goldberg for being a registered Democrat before calling him an “anti-Trump hater". Elon Musk is said to be leading the investigation into how Goldberg’s number was added to the group chat.

US President Donald Trump hosted a Women's History Month event at the White House, where he said he'd like to be known as the "fertilisation President". The quip follows election promises from Trump that he would increase access to in vitro fertilisation (IVF). Trump also mentioned his presidency's impact on cost of living, citing the prices of energy, gasoline and groceries have decreased. The comments come despite conflicting reports, specifically with groceries, which according to the Economic Research Service have seen a modest increase in prices.

House Democrats are demanding Trump’s national security officials take accountability for a security breach, which saw plans for upcoming military strikes in Yemen shared in a group chat including a journalist from a major American magazine. While officials – including the Director of National Intelligence and the Director of the CIA – are insisting that only declassified information was discussed in the group chat, Senators on the Intelligence Committee have said they “fail to understand” how attack sequences and timing wasn’t classified. U.S. President Donald Trump has said his national security adviser is “doing his best” and an apology isn’t necessary – instead taking aim at the journalist in the chat and calling him a “sleazebag”.

The group appeared to include several high-ranking government officials, including US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth and Vice President J.D. Vance. According to editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg, the messages contained “operational details of forthcoming strikes on Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen, including information about targets, weapons the U.S. would be deploying, and attack sequencing.” Signal, an open-source encrypted messaging service, is not approved by the US government for sharing classified information, and its use could constitute a violation of the Espionage Act.
