Several states in the south-eastern United States have started a massive cleanup and recovery effort after Hurricane Helene forged a trail of widespread destruction that left at least 100 people dead. Millions of people in North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Georgia and Virginia have been left without power, stranded as emergency crews work to airdrop supplies and restore roads. The storm made landfall near the Florida gulf on Thursday night as a category 4 system.
