Former US President Jimmy Carter was honoured at a state funeral at the Washington National Cathedral on Thursday. Carter, the 39th US president, served one term and was celebrated for his humanitarian work after leaving office. He died on December 29 at the age of 100. President Joe Biden, delivering the eulogy, said Carter "taught me the strength of character is more than title or the power we hold." All five living current and former US presidents attended, joined by hundreds of mourners. Carter will be buried in Plains, Georgia, next to his wife of 77 years, Rosalynn Carter.
