CNN Bans Commentator After Verbal Attack On Live TV | 10 News First

Conservative writer Ryan Gidursky has been banned from U.S. television network CNN after telling panelist and Palestinian activist Mehdi Hasan “I hope your beeper doesn't go off.” The comment, spoken live on-air on Monday night, was making reference to the simultaneous pager and walkie-talkie explosions in September, which killed 39 people. The devices were used by hundreds of Hezbollah members in Lebanon and Syria. After a commercial break, Gidursky had been removed from the panel. Host Abby Phillip apologised to Hasan and to viewers for the heated exchange, stating the comment had "crossed a line" and there was “zero room for racism or bigotry" on the network. Gidursky has since responded on X, stating "you can stay on CNN if you falsely call every Republican a Nazi", but "apparently you can't go on CNN if you make a joke. I'm glad America gets to see what CNN stands for."
