Puerto Ricans and U.S. democrats have condemned a series of racist 'jokes' performed by comedian Tony Hinchcliffe at Donald Trump's rally at Madison Square Garden, New York, on Sunday. Hinchcliffe described the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico as a "floating island of garbage," prompting commentary from several Latino musicians, Puerto Rican voters, and U.S. congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who said the comments were "super upsetting". "I need people to understand that when they when you have some a-hole calling Puerto Rico floating garbage and know that that's what they think about you," said Ocasio-Cortez in a video alongside vice presidential nominee Tim Walz. Hinchcliffe has since responded to Ocasio-Cortez and Walz's condemnation on X, saying that they have "no sense of humour."
