US Officials Express Doubts Over Ukraine-Russia Peace |10 News First

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said he “does not have high expectations” for Ukraine-Russia peace negotiations after Moscow sent a second-tier team to talks taking place in Turkey. Speaking to reporters in Antalya, Rubio said the only way a breakthrough would occur is if President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin engage in talks directly. "It's my assessment that I don't think we're going to have a breakthrough here until the President (Trump) and President Putin interact directly on this topic," Rubio said. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Putin’s decision to send what he called a "decorative" lineup showed the Russian leader was not serious about ending the war. Meanwhile, Russia accused Ukraine of trying “to put on a show” around the talks.
