About the Show
Contestants will also be challenged with a week in Western Australia, set amongst the picturesque vineyards of Margaret River and the hustle and bustle of the capital, Perth. With challenges set to excite and wow the contestants, this is what dreams are made of as the contestants make a push towards Finals Week.
From pharmacists, travel agents, HR and marketing specialists, criminal statisticians, teachers, receptionists and stay-at-home mums and dads to theatre and restaurant managers, they all applied with one common ingredient - their love of food. MasterChef Australia remains Australia’s premier cooking competition. The ultimate winner stands to walk away with not only a life-changing experience and the title of Australia’s MasterChef 2019, but $250,000, a monthly column in Australia’s leading premium food magazine, Delicious, and a brand-new Holden Equinox.
Fans will relish seeing all their favourite challenges: the Mystery Box and Invention Test starts the week, with the winner of the Mystery Box fast-tracked each week to the Immunity Challenge, joined by the winners in the Invention Test.
On Monday nights, a nail-biting Pressure Test will see one cook pack their bags and on Tuesday contestants will go head-to-head with professional chefs in a bid to win a pin, saving themselves from a future Elimination. Unique and exciting Team Challenges push the contestants to their limits mid-week and an Elimination ends the week, waving another talented cook goodbye.
MasterClasses are back, peppered throughout the series with Gary, Matt and George and special guests all taking the time to showcase individual skills, priceless tips and recipes for both contestants and eager cooks at home.
MasterChef Australia is the ultimate cooking competition. It transforms lives, gives the nation goose bumps and knocks the socks off the world’s best chefs.
