The 2023 Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix promises to be even bigger and better than the last as we welcome all the very best F1 drivers back to Albert Park for another cracking weekend of high-octane racing.
Oscar Piastri: Australia's Rising Star
Australian Formula 1 fans will be able to see the next generation of Aussie talent in action as Oscar Piastri gears up for his first Formula 1 race on home soil with McLaren.
It has been a rapid rise through the ranks for Piastri who has soared up through the rankings since the British F4 in 2017.
He has taken over the second drivers seat on offer at McLaren after it was vacated by fellow Aussie, Daniel Ricciardo, who has since returned to Red Bull as their reserve driver for 2023.
Piastri's move to McLaren has not been without controversy with the Melbourne born driver leaving Alpine towards the backend of last year to link up with his new employers.
Piastri will be the next name in a long line of young Australian F1 drivers to feature at Albert Park.
Keep an eye out for Piastri in what is expected to be a bumper weekend for the Melbourne local.
Who are the favourites?
It would be remiss not to put Max Verstappen's name in the ring as favourite for this race. However, last year's race proved to be a frustrating outing for the reigning champion who was unable to finish.
Instead, it was a day to remember for his rival, Ferrari's Charles Leclerc who enjoyed a bright start to last season and appeared on course to be challenging Verstappen for the title.
Meanwhile, Mercedes appear to be in slightly better shape this year following a hugely disappointing 2022. George Russell is proving to be one of the most consistent drivers on the grid while we all know what Lewis Hamilton is capable of!
